What does Riese & Müller have planned for the 2025 season? The manufacturer already announced a lot of it three months ago at the Eurobike in Frankfurt. However, the new models with the new hardware from Bosch were not allowed to be shown publicly there yet. Now Bosch has lifted the curtain. This means that Riese & Müller can also present its other novelties.
As an upgrade to the Delite, the Superdelite has long attracted all those who could never get enough. Not enough range and riding fun, of course. Both ebikes are identical from the ground up. Only the Superdelite has always come with two full-fledged batteries that allow you to take on longer tours, which can easily last for several days.
1. Riese & Müller Superdelite5: Proven concept
2. Latest generation of Bosch motors
3. More relaxed riding position
4. Child seat as a new option
5. Where are the speed pedelecs?
6. Riese & Müller Homage5: More models announced
1. Riese & Müller Superdelite5: Proven concept
The new Superdelite5 remains true to this approach. It adds a further 400 watt-hours to the 800 watt-hours capacity of the Delite5. With a total of 1,200 watt-hours, you can easily pass up on quite a few opportunities to recharge. Another advantage: There is hardly another full-suspension touring ebike that allows you to carry the two batteries so conveniently. The larger PowerTube 800 from Bosch is located in the down tube. For the smaller Bosch CompactTube 400, Riese & Müller has designed an easily accessible battery compartment. This runs under the top tube. It can be closed and opened via a flap. Half of the battery is enclosed by the top tube, which is open at the bottom, and half by the battery compartment.
The cover of the battery in the down tube will now be made of aluminium and will match the colour of the frame. Conveniently, Riese & Müller has decided to stop connecting the battery and cover. Thanks to this decision, you can remove the battery from the bike when travelling, for example, while the battery cover protects the battery compartment on the down tube.
2. Latest generation of Bosch motors
However, to reduce the Superdelite5 to its immense battery capacity would not be fair to the ebike. After all, the 2025 model has been completely redesigned. One of the fundamental elements of this redesign is the step towards Bosch’s Smart System. Its predecessor, the Superdelite 4, was still based on a drive system from Bosch’s second development stage. Now, all the developments of the past three years are coming at once, such as the new Eco+ riding mode, customising the support levels, increased theft protection thanks to the Bosch ConnectModule and over-the-air updates.
In this case, the gain feels even greater. Finally, there are the latest batteries and the latest Bosch Performance Line CX motor. The motor in particular is a vast improvement, after Bosch worked hard on quieter motor sounds and its susceptibility to a variety of rattling noises. When riding for several hours, the 30 per cent lower pedalling resistance also pays off. Together with the PowerTube 800 and the CompacteTube 400, the Superdelite 5 brings you up to date with the latest technology that can be achieved on an ebike featuring a Bosch system.
3. A more relaxed riding position
Riese & Müller has revised the frame and suspension of the Superdelite5 in the same way as for the Delite5 and Homage5. The partially polished welds give the aluminium frame a noticeably higher quality than before. A slightly steeper seat angle stands out when looking at the geometry data. Together with a slightly shorter top tube, it ensures that your weight is shifted more to the front wheel. According to the manufacturer, this should improve riding stability. Furthermore, Riese & Müller has increased the distance from the bottom bracket to the ground. Thanks to shorter cranks, the bike is less likely to hit obstacles than before. Furthermore, the chainstays are now a little shorter. This usually gives an ebike more riding pleasure and more agile handling. Given that the total weight of the bike is around 36 kilograms, it remains to be seen whether this actually makes a difference when riding.
The rear wheel suspension of the Superdelite5 is again solved by a supported single-pivot. Details have also been changed on the rear triangle. More robust against torsion forces, it should now react faster to unevenness. Even before the first test rides, it is clear that the mounting for the rear wheel is now different. The replaceable derailleur hanger has given way to a construction with a thru-axle. Noticeably inconspicuous a frame lock also fits into the swingarm.
In terms of the suspension fork, the manufacturer is adopting a slightly quieter tone. It has reduced the suspension travel from 140 millimetres to 120 millimetres. It is quite possible that feedback from riders comes into play at this point. Apparently, this amount of suspension is still enough for what they demand of the Superdelite5.
4. Child seat as a new option
Anyone familiar with an older Superdelite, Delite or Homage will notice that Riese & Müller has changed the characteristic rear rack. Still firmly integrated into the frame, it now picks up on a line that comes from the motor cover and rises diagonally to the rear. Two strong struts emanating from the seat tube are responsible for this. They give the rack more stability, increasing its load capacity to 27 kilograms. This gives it approval for attaching a child seat.
Alternatively, you can choose a much more spartan pannier rack when configuring your model. This allows bags weighing up to 7.5 kilograms on each side to be attached. Unfortunately, we don’t yet have any pictures of this accessory. According to the manufacturer, it should be available from March 2025. Some of the luggage could also be stored on the optional front rack. After all, it is approved for a load of five kilograms. For some travel planning, it is certainly important to know that the maximum permitted total weight of the Superdelite5 is 160 kilograms. Of this, no more than 120 kilograms should be accounted for by the person riding.
5. Where are the speed pedelecs?
The overview of the new model range holds a bigger surprise. Not necessarily in terms of the available gear systems. These continue to include the familiar trio of Rohloff Speedhub E-14 on the Superdelite5 GT Rohloff, Enviolo Heavy Duty on the Riese & Müller Superdelite5 GT vario, and a Shimano Cues derailleur with eleven gears on the Riese & Müller Superdelite5 GT touring. On the other hand, Riese & Müller no longer mention a speed pedelec in their announcement. Until now, every model was also available as speed pedelec, supporting you up to a speed of 45 kilometres per hour. At the moment, we can’t say whether the faster pedelecs will follow at a later date.
That being said, the rest of the components are as high-quality and comprehensive as usual. For all three frame sizes 47 centimetres, 51 centimetres and 56 centimetres, you can add extras such as Bosch’s ABS or a Bosch PowerMore 250 range extender. The electronic anti-theft protection via RX chip, including the ConnectCare service, is provided by the manufacturer free of charge for the first year after purchase.
The new Superdelite 5 models will be available in shops and online from February 2025.

6. Riese & Müller Homage5: further models announced
The growth of the Homage5 model range from Riese & Müller is directly linked to the release of the new Superdelite5. Three additional models were already in the starting blocks, and these can now be shown. These are the expected versions of the low-step bike with the new components of the Bosch Smart System as well as the hub gears from Rohloff and Enviolo and the Shimano derailleur gears. The latter package, the Riese & Müller Homage5 GT touring, priced at 7,199 euros, is the entry point to the series. At a price of 7,699 euros, the Riese & Müller Homage5 GT vario is still below the amount offered for the cheapest Homage5 model with the Pinion system. The Rohloff Speedhub E-14 makes the Riese & Müller Homage5 GT rohloff the new top model. The manufacturer is asking 9,199 euros for it.
