Explore new opportunities. This is the slogan that Ca Go, the specialist for e-cargo bikes, has been using for some time to advertise its latest model, the Ca Go CS. In future, there will actually be even more to explore with it. The manufacturer has further developed a few details of the bike.
Thanks to its concept with the three differently positioned cargo areas, the CS clearly stands out from the crowd of e-cargo bikes. Currently, we don’t know of any other manufacturer working on a single-track cargo bike with a rear, centre and front carrier. So far, you have been able to move loads of up to 75 kilograms in a well-balanced way. This figure now rises slightly to 80 kilograms. The Center Rack, i.e. the middle carrier on the CS, can now take five kilograms more, giving it a maximum load of 35 kilograms. Ca Go does not reveal in the press release whether this is accompanied by structural changes to the bike. Regardless of the increased payload, the maximum permissible total weight for all three equipment variants CS200, CS150 and CS100 remains unchanged at 180 kilograms.
Building on existing strengths – and gaining new ones
For example, you could fill the Centre Rack with nappy packs. Sure, you could have done that before. What’s new, however, is that you can now also take your accompanying offspring with you on the e-cargo bike. At the time of the market launch a few months ago, the necessary approval for attaching a child seat to the rear carrier was still missing. This has now been granted.
Initially, you can use two child seats with the MIK HD system of the carrier. These are the Go Maxi MIK HD from the Dutch manufacturer Bobike and the Carres X2 from the Norwegian brand Hamax. Ca Go did not say whether this list will grow in the near future and, if so, which child seats will be added.
According to its own statement, the company from Koblenz hopes that the two innovations and the resulting increase in the number of possible applications will attract even more people to the CS. Especially those who want to explore new opportunities 😉.
