With the end of the year approaching, Bosch is adding more functions to its eBike Flow app. A recent update improves navigation and gives you new options in the event that your ebike is stolen.
Rescheduling at a single touch of a button
Since 6th November, the Ride Screen features a new quick menu. You can use it to change your destination during a tour whose route you have planned digitally in advance. For example, if you realise that your battery is draining faster than expected and you want to go to a different location, you can select it without having to get off your bike and take out your smartphone. Instead, press the select button on the LED Remote, Mini Remote or Purion 200 for longer than a second. You can then choose locations from the destinations of previous tours as the new destination for the current ride. However, if you want to enter a completely new destination, you will have to add it manually to the route planning and will not be able to avoid stopping.
The update also makes the actual planning of routes easier for you. If you discover a place along the route that you want to add as a stopover, this will be easier than before. In future, all you need to do is press and hold on a location directly on the map. Alternatively, you can add it using the “Add destination” function.
Helpful additional view
If you ride later on the now extended route, you will benefit from another new feature. Bosch has added an elevation profile to the views. A dot on the profile displayed as a line graphic shows your current position. This means you know pretty much exactly what you have already done and what still lies ahead. You can see how many metres you may still have to climb and how many kilometres away your destination is. However, the overview does not provide an exact indication in metres of elevation for ascents and descents.
Digital profile
At the end of the month, the eBike Pass will be added to the eBike Flow app. This will allow you to record the equipment of your ebike in detail. By default, the information on the components of the ebike system will appear there, which you can already see if you look up your bike in the app under “Components”. This list can be expanded. You can add information about the gears, suspension system and other features that make your ebike unique. This includes, for example, the frame number and descriptions of certain details written by you. You can store pictures of the bike and other files in the eBike Pass. In the end, you have a digital profile of your ebike – always ready to hand and available if the insurance company or your trusted shop needs to know something.
Prepared for the worst case scenario
The function also proves to be an advantage if your ebike is stolen. In this case, you will soon be able to create a theft report under “My eBike” in the eBike Flow app. This will automatically take over all the information stored in the eBike Pass. Before actually writing the report, you can mark your ebike as stolen in the app. The app will then ask you a few questions before directing you to the actual theft report. Here you can enter various information about the theft:
- time and location of the incident
- important details about what happened
- personal details such as name and telephone number
At the end, the theft report can be saved as a PDF document and sent to the nearest police station by email, for example. You can also print it out for your own records. The theft report allows you to provide the police with crucial information quickly, which can significantly speed up the investigation of the incident and the identification of the perpetrators.
Apple Watch is recognised
Some of you may have been eagerly awaiting the connection from the Smart System to the Apple Watch. In future, you will be able to conveniently track your heart rate while riding via the Kiox 300 and Kiox 500 displays. All you have to do is add the smartwatch in the eBike Flow app settings under “Connected services”. Then create an additional screen with the display configuration in the app before the ride. From then on, you can keep an eye on your level of exertion directly when you look at the handlebars.
There are also two smaller additions in the update. Firstly, Bosch has now actually implemented the eShift function in the Smart System for hub gears from Enviolo that was announced earlier this summer. From now on, you can set your preferred cadence in the quick menu of the Ride Screen.
And secondly, units for distance, speed, etc. and the time format can now be set manually. This means that if the app wants to change this because it suddenly detects you at a location where other units apply, you can now prevent this.

Saludos cordiales, Matthias
Why is the eBike flow app not available in Apple Store in Southamerica?!
Hello Erwin,
This list shows, where Bosch’s eBike Flow app is available:
The eBike Connect app is available in the following countries:
EU27: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden
Rest of Europe: Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom
North America: Canada, USA

Why Bosch leaves out Middle and South America, we don’t know.
Cheers, Matthias
Hello Erwin,
We have asked Bosch again specifically. The company says that it will only intensify its activities in South America once it can ensure that it can offer the same high-quality, comprehensive service there as it does in Europe and North America, for example. Apparently, Bosch does not yet consider itself in a position to do this. This is why, for example, the app is not available in the Apple Store there.
Cheers, Matthias
