Bergamont is definitely one of those brands that interpret the e-bike primarily as a useful gadget in the urban jungle. The people of Hamburg have been inspired by the rough charm of St. Pauli for years. Resilient and versatile – these two characteristics are to be embodied by the bikes with the jagged B on the head tube. And it is exactly this approach that the new e-bikes for 2021 follow.

1. Bergamont E-Cargoville LT 2021: cargo bike with many talents
This is most noticeable in the case of e-cargo bikes. Whereas Bergamont had exactly two models for 2020, there will be nine for 2021. Among them is the E-Cargoville LT, a completely new bike. LT is the abbreviation for “Long Tail” and refers to cargo bikes whose transport platform is an extended and reinforced rear triangle. The E-Cargoville LT fills the gap between Bergamont’s largest cargo bike to date, the E-Cargoville LJ, and the smallest, the E-Cargoville Bakery.
The frame of the LT is borrowed from Bergamont’s E-Horizon trekking bike. You can choose between two different frame sizes. The 26-inch wheels offer the manoeuvrability you need for urban traffic. As standard, the e-cargo bike is equipped with front and rear carriers. This way you can share the loads well, which makes it even easier to handle the bike. There are different versions available for both carriers. For example, two Thule Yepp child seats fit behind each other on the rear one. Thanks to the versatile equipment, this bike can easily be transformed from a family carriage, to an urban pack animal or into an extremely robust vehicle for the next trip around the world.
The frame is prepared during manufacturing for a second battery.
Various accessories can be mounted on the luggage carrier.

2. Bergamont E-Cargoville LJ 2021: Now Choice for Length of Loading Platform
If you want to carry even more from A to B riding an e-bike, you’d better reach for the E-Cargoville LJ. The term “Long John” is concealed behind LJ. With this type of cargo bike, the loading area is located on the extended front part of the bike. Sitting on the bike, you therefore have a clear view of the load at all times. The loading area is usually flat and lowered because a smaller wheel limits the bike to the front. In this case it is 20 inches.
Bergamont E-Cargoville LJ 50 2021
Bergamont offers 2021 this bike with a loading platform in two different lengths: 50 centimetres and 70 centimetres. The width is 45 centimetres in each case. So, in future you can choose between a smaller and a larger Long John. It simply depends on what and how much you want to transport. The E-Cargoville LJ can also be completed with a rear carrier.
Integrated in the PowerDome are the steering mechanism, associated cables and the battery.
The modular chassis makes it possible to combine different drive trains and front sections.
Drives of different quality and price ranges
Bergamont has also made progress in the area of propulsion for this model. The noble version with the addition “Elite” includes the already known stepless hub gear from Enviolo with a Gates carbon belt, the 4th generation Bosch cargo motor and a PowerTube battery with 625 watt hours. The “Expert” version replaces the belt with a typical bicycle chain. Nothing else changes. The difference between the “Edition” version and the “Expert” version is greater. There you get an 11-speed derailleur gear from Shimano in combination with a 3rd generation cargo motor and a PowerTube 500 battery. In return the price is much lower. All models have the same range of accessories, such as boxes, child seats, Kids Rain Canopy etc.

3. Bergamont E-Cargoville Bakery 2021: One for everyone
Two sizes smaller is the E-Cargoville Bakery. Here Bergamont has stuck to the concept of the previous year. Basically, it is an ordinary city e-bike with two very large, stable carriers – one in the front and one in the back. This is probably interesting for all of you who only occasionally want to transport more by bike and at this occasion are thinking of a more extensive shopping trip. The short wheelbase and the combination of a 24-inch wheel at the front and a 26-inch wheel at the back ensure maximum comfort and a riding experience that is as close as possible to that of a typical e-bike.

4. Bergamont Paul-E 2021: The Practical One to Take with You
Of course, an e-folding bike also fits perfectly into the urban environment. It is therefore hardly surprising that Bergamont is also occupying this niche with the 2021 model year. The new compact one is named Paul-E and at first glance it already looks very mature. Many details can be found in a similar way on e-folding bikes that are already successful on the market: lightweight aluminium frame, 20-inch wheels, hub gears, optionally with Gates carbon belt.
The most important feature of the e-folding bike is of course always the folding itself. According to Bergamont, the Paul-E can be folded in just four steps. In the end, the dimensions of 90 × 80 × 45 cm remain as a benchmark. The folding of the pedals is already taken into account.
A practical carrying handle is incorporated into the frame.
The frame engages safely in the mount when folded.
Motor and Co. from Shimano
If you want to climb the stairs to the track at the station and leave the bike in its original condition, there is a practical recessed grip built into the top tube. This makes the bike comfortable to carry. A few muscles can still do no harm. Because with its 22.5 kilograms, the folding bike is not a designated lightweight. Practical on the frame are also the several mounts for locks, bags, etc.
With regard to the drive, Paul-E relies completely on Shimano. The easily removable battery integrated in the top tube has a capacity of up to 504 watt hours. The mid-engine provides up to 200 percent support for rapid progress. You can control the whole thing with a total of three assistance modes and a hub gear. With its hydraulic disc brakes, complete lighting system, mudguards and luggage rack, the Paul-E is a fully-fledged e-bike that will perhaps be noticed by the commuters among you.

When folded, the Paul-E is no larger than half a bicycle box.
A lever unlocks the stem when folding it up.
A safety system only allows folding in one direction.
5. Bergamont E-Ville 2021: Elegant in Everyday Life
The E-Ville also belongs to the category “Urban Bikes”. A lot has changed here compared to the previous model. Most obvious is the change from the battery mounted on the seat tube to the version integrated in the down tube. This significantly changes the appearance of the frame and thus the entire e-bike. As a result, the latest generation of intube batteries PowerTube from Bosch is now also available on the E-Ville models. The batteries are accessible from the upper side of the down tube. This means that less dirt gets in there during daily cycling and your hands stay nice and clean when you take them out.
Bergamont has also lent a hand with other details. The chain guard and the cover for the engine have now become one component. A little bit above it is the new place for the charger’s connection socket. A new rear rack has been developed in-house, which looks similarly filigree as its predecessor. The standard Kiox display is form-fittingly integrated into the stem.
New to the E-Ville is the combined motor and chain guard.
As usual, Bergamont installs the cables very cleanly.
More power due to motor update
Each E-Ville comes with the latest generation of Bosch Performance Line CX motors. In line with the efforts to improve driving comfort, Bergamont is providing more comfortable tyres. The width of the tyres has increased from 47 to 55 millimetres. The optional expansion of the battery capacity to a total of 1125 watt hours means that you can enjoy this extra power for longer than before.

The mounting for the kickstand is also integrated into the frame.
6. Bergamont E-Horizon Wave 2021: The Wave now Rolls More Smoothly
What Bergamont can do for the E-Ville series, the company can do for the Horizon Wave e-trekking bikes as well. One of the most popular e-bikes of the Hamburg company receives a completely renewed frame for 2021. The reason is the same. Here too, Bergamont has decided to completely change over to the battery integrated in the down tube. This again means PowerTube instead of PowerPack, both from Bosch, as is well known. On top of this there is the mid-engine Bosch Performance CX in the 4th generation throughout. In combination, this results in a powerful overall package as the basis for an all-rounder, as a trekking e-bike should be.
Regarding trips in everyday business life, the optional belt drive, as a particularly clean and low-maintenance solution in the truest sense of the word, complements this approach.
On the new frame, all cables are internally routed.
Two models of the Bergamont E-Horizon Wave will have a belt drive in future.

The new box flange concept allows the integration of a wide variety of motors.
7. Bergamont E-Revox FMN 2021: New Design for Sporty Women
Since all good things come in threes, one of the e-mountainbikes has received an update on the frame, too. In this case the gentle sex benefits from the new layout. The E-Revox FMN gets three new variants. All have Bosch’s PowerTube battery and the 4th generation of the Performance CX. Thus, the ladies are now finally just as technically well-equipped as the male rest of the bikers.
Bergamont E-Revox Expert FMN 2021
The E-Revox Pro FMN EQ with mudguards, complete lighting system and carrier enables you to extend your off-road tour to the city at any time, while the E-Revox Expert FMN and E-Revox Sport FMN are classic e-hardtails. In addition, there is a single drive train from Shimano’s Deore group with 11 or 12 gears and a matching suspension fork with 100 millimetres of travel.

8. Bergamont E-Revox Rigid EQ 2021: Does not fit in any Category
At the end of the short round tour, we come back to the versatility mentioned at the beginning, which distinguishes Bergamont. The E-Revox Rigid EQ combines the characteristics of mountain bikes and urban bikes in an exciting mix that opens the door to both worlds. In particular, the E-Revox Rigid EQ combines the well-known frame of the E-Revox with a roadworthy rigid fork and equipment that conforms to the German road traffic regulations StVO. The result is certainly interesting for all those who find it difficult to choose between the mentioned e-bike types. In any case, Bergamont is presenting an interesting bike here, where you can be curious to see how it will attract the attention of the customers.
The single drivetrain with 11 gears at XT level and the hydraulic 4-piston disc brake together with the 27.5-inch wheels clearly show their strengths off the beaten track. With their very easy tyre pattern, Schwalbe Moto tyres speak a completely different language. The same applies to the permanently installed lighting, mudguards and carrier. But nobody says that an e-bike can only serve one purpose. And certainly not Bergamont.
Fixed mounted mudguards and the rear rack characterize the outward appearance of the E-Revox Rigd EQ.
