The SHIMANO XTR SL-M9100 2-speed shifter features Instant Realease and 2-Way Release technologies, which allow you to shift with practically any movement - no matter which direction you ride the shifter. This means that the gear lever adapts optimally to the rider and the respective riding situation. This allows you to devote your full concentration to the trail.

The switch is attached to the handlebar by means of a clamp. This makes the trigger compatible with other brake systems and still allows for an ergonomically perfect positioning. A longer lever housing and an anti-slip surface ensure better accessibility and safety. The further developed Vivid Index mechanism provides a clearly defined, crisp pressure point and gives a pleasant feedback of the shifting process. The operating forces have been reduced by another 35% compared to the predecessor. The excellent workmanship and high-quality materials ensure reliability and durability on the one hand and an elegant design on the other.

TECHNOLOGIES

2-WAY RELEASE
The release lever for downshifting can be operated either by pressing with the thumb or by pulling with the index finger. This allows the gear lever to be optimally adapted to the respective riding situation.

INSTANT RELEASE
The INSTANT RELEASE shifting process replaces the two-stage click and release process. With INSTANT RELEASE, the cable is released immediately when the lever is actuated, thus achieving the fastest possible gear change. Regardless of whether a gear change up is to be made with a top-normal rear derailleur or a gear change down with a low-normal rear derailleur - a faster shift is always a better shift.

RAPIDFIRE PLUS
The mountain bikers' first choice for fast shifting since 1985. Up to three gears can be shifted with one push.

Polymer Coated Cable
The secret is a polymer coating that, under a microscope, looks like tubing wrapped around the cable. This provides a smaller surface area that rubs against the inner housing lining. Grease is also retained longer.The main benefits are a much lower effort when shifting gears and the feeling of faster gear changes.
