The XT group is SHIMANO's flagship in the mountain bike sector. It combines pretty much all the technology that Shimano has to offer. The result is extraordinarily high performance. You can feel it on the trail! And you can already see it in the XT components. The SHIMANO DEORE XT SL-M8100 Rapidfire Plus Mono shift lever leaves nothing to be desired in terms of operability, ergonomics and adjustability. Every detail has been thought of here.

The 2-speed trigger features technologies such as Instant Realease and 2-Way Release, which make it possible to shift quickly with practically any movement - no matter in which direction you ride the shifters. This means that the gear lever adapts optimally to the rider and the respective riding situation. This allows you to devote your full concentration to the trail.

The shifter is attached directly to the brake lever via I-SPEC EV. This creates the possibility of an ergonomically perfect positioning. A longer lever housing and an anti-slip surface ensure better accessibility and safety. The further developed Vivid Index mechanism provides a clearly defined, crisp pressure point and gives a pleasant feedback of the shifting process. The operating forces have been reduced by another 35% compared to the predecessor. The excellent workmanship and high-quality materials ensure reliability and durability on the one hand and an elegant design on the other.

Technologies

2-WAY RELEASE
The release lever for downshifting can be operated either by pressing with the thumb or by pulling with the index finger. This allows the gear lever to adapt optimally to the respective riding situation.

INSTANT RELEASE
The INSTANT RELEASE shifting process replaces the two-stage click and release process. With INSTANT RELEASE, the cable is released immediately when the lever is actuated, thus achieving the fastest possible gear change. Regardless of whether a gear change up is to be made with a top-normal rear derailleur or a gear change down with a low-normal rear derailleur - a faster shift is always a better shift.

RAPIDFIRE PLUS MONO
The RAPIDFIRE PLUS MONO lever is a front shift lever in a light and compact design. It enables comfortable upshifting and downshifting. It enables upshifting and downshifting via simple and intuitive single-lever operation and supports double front shifting with natural finger position and intuitive shifting movements without releasing the fixed grip on the handlebar.

I-SPEC EV
This mounting system offers the best possible accessibility and ergonomics of the gear lever as well as a tidy cockpit. It is mounted directly on the I-SPEC EV compatible brake lever. The lateral adjustment range is 14mm. The angle of the shifter can be adjusted by 60°. A second contact point between the brake lever and the handlebar provides additional stiffness and thus increases the braking effect.

OPTISLICK
OPTISLICK cables reduce friction and thus the effort required when shifting gears thanks to the minimalist, uniform galvanic coating. The coating also provides excellent corrosion protection.
