Schwalbe Smart Sam Plus eMTB clincher tyre

The Schwalbe Smart Sam Plus is the extra-safe tyre for the eMTB. Equipped with DoubleDefense, consisting of a layer of SnakeSkin fabric around the tyre and a 3 mm layer of highly elastic special rubber(GreenGuard) under the tread, this tyre offers maximum puncture protection. Schwalbe gives the protection level as 6 on a scale up to 7.

The off-road tread of this long-running tyre makes the Smart Sam an optimal all-rounder for eMTBs. The compact centre bar ensures pleasant and low-vibration rolling behaviour on asphalt. It also reduces wear and tear. The side lugs bite into the ground and provide optimal grip and hold off-road. Dirt and mud are excellently transported away.

The ECE-R75 certification means that it is approved for eBikes up to 50km/h.

Note: The 54-559 and 42-622 versions are only approved for eBikes up to 25km/h.

Technologies

MTB-DD-GREENGUARD
The combined puncture protection. 3 mm of highly elastic special rubber under the tread with SnakeSkin sidewalls are a very safe choice for bikes and eBikes.

ADDIX PERFORMANCE COMPOUND
Very durable rubber compound with a wide range of requirements. Similar to Speedgrip, it is a universal compound for tyres in the Performance Line.

E-50
For fast eBikes up to 50 km/h For fast eBikes (S-Pedelecs with registration, insurance and pedal assistance also over 25 km/h) a special approval of the tyre is necessary. For these bikes, we recommend eBike tyres with the ECE-R75 approval valid throughout Europe.
