Schwalbe Hans Dampf - Trail and Enduro All-Rounder

With the Hans Dampf series, Schwalbe offers an excellent all-rounder for eBikes. The all-rounder, for mountain bikers who ride on many different surfaces, is available in sizes from 24" to 29".
Schwalbe's goal was to develop a tyre with low rolling resistance and good traction - and Schwalbe has succeeded!

What makes the Hans Dampf so special?

It has no U-blocks in the tread, which means that the Hans Dampf tyre has no directional binding. So you don't have to worry about which way the tyre is mounted.

Structure

The tread is semi-open, with larger gaps alternating with smaller gaps in the tread. However, the performance does not suffer. Due to the new, larger block sizes, the self-cleaning is better compared to other Schwalbe tyres. In addition, the larger blocks in the longitudinal direction provide excellent braking-acceleration traction.

The large and stable shoulder lugs counteract the problem of buckling. The studs always alternate between large and small. The large shoulder lugs grip extremely well in curves and the small shoulder lugs provide additional grip on loamy and loose surfaces.

Traction and cushioning

The Schwalbe Hans Dampf tyre has good traction, whatever the surface. The good lateral grip and the reinforced, larger side lugs push the limits - perfect even for demanding trails.

The Super Gravity carcass provides excellent damping. The interaction of the Appix rubber compound and the carcass results in perfect softness and volume - optimal for rooty and stony grounds.

Rolling resistance

For such a soft rubber compound, the rolling resistance is very low and the tread rolls with very little vibration. Thanks to the round tread shape with the flat side lugs, the overall rolling behaviour is smooth.
