The Rohloff E-14 shifting unit is the brain of the system and is mounted on the Speedhub 500/14 instead of the mechanical shift cable guide. It has been developed for maximum durability and efficiency, eliminating the need for maintenance work.

The electronic Rohloff E-14 offers unrivalled performance, shifting intelligently, lightning fast and comfortably like no other, plus the legendary Rohloff quality. Combined with the Bosch eShift function, a complete system has been brought to light that more than fulfils the requirements of touring and city cyclists as well as extreme sports enthusiasts. Thanks to the error-free shifting unit, every shift will run smoothly in future!

At the touch of a button, the drivetrain takes the load from the system and the Rohloff E-14 shifts. Hold down the button and the E-14 shifts all 14 gears in a quick 3-speed sequence (Multi-Shift). And at traffic light stops, it automatically shifts back to the starting gear (Auto-Downshift). The most efficient and durable gearstick for all eBikes with a mid-motor.

The E-14 does not shy away from torque

Of course, Rohloff uses its SPEEDHUB 500/14 rear hub with its 14 gears and 526% efficiency, which has been proven and reliable for 20 years, as a basis - more is not possible with gear hubs. In eBike use, this hub has proven to be the only durable option for mid-motors, making it the ideal choice for S-pedelecs even with the most powerful motors.An electronic system, consisting of the shifting unit on the handlebars and the shifting control unit on the hub, takes over the shifting control, coordinates the ideal time to change gear with the drive system and then engages the selected gear in an incredible 180 ms or 0.18 seconds. The result: a velvety smooth gear change!

The E-14 system is equipped with a wireless connection for future updates and settings. The system can also be accessed via an app.
 

Bosch as the perfect partner

Depending on the setting, the Bosch Intuvia100 and Kiox300 & 500 displays show the gear change or the engaged gear permanently.

The Bosch Smart System synchronises with the Rohloff E-14, and you can feel the impressive advantage of this with a light press of the shift button - the next gear is engaged smoothly. The secret behind it: The moment you trigger the gear change, the Bosch system takes the load off the drivetrain for a tiny moment and the new gear is engaged by the E14 in a rapid 180 ms. No other gearstick is currently faster.

The Rohloff E-14 achieves even more shifting comfort via Multi-Shift. This enables 3 gears to be shifted up and down in one sequence. Finally, Auto-Downshift: At traffic light stops, the Bosch Smart System communicates with the Rohloff E-14 and automatically shifts back to an individually selectable starting gear.

Note: The Rohloff E-14 2.0 shifting unit for Bosch Smart System only works in combination with the Rohloff DC-Can adapter.

The Rohloff E-14 cannot currently be retrofitted. At present, the Rohloff E-14 electronic gearshift control unit is only available on new eBikes with Bosch drive systems.
