Groove Next Li-ion Battery 252Wh for Kalkhoff & Focus

The Groove Next Li-ion battery is the latest battery generation of Derby Cycle and suitable for all e-bikes with a Groove Next drive. The special feature of the Groove Next battery is that it is fully integrated into the frame and thus contributes to a clean e-bike design. In addition, the full integration of the Groove Next battery contributes to the fact that it is better protected against external influences and theft.

The lithium-ion battery comes with an enduring 252 Wh and 36 V. In addition, the Groove Next has an indicator panel with four LEDs and a battery button on the outside. When the battery button is pressed, the LEDs light up blue. The number and type of flashes provide information about the battery's charge status:

3 LEDs light up 51 - 75
2 LEDs light up 26 - 50
1 LED lights up 11 - 25
1 LED flashes 0 - 10

You can charge the Groove Next battery when it is installed or removed. You can also purchase the appropriate charger from us.

If you have not ridden your e-bike for a longer period of time, the battery management system (BMS) puts the Groove Next battery into a switch mode and thus prevents deep discharge. Depending on the state of charge, the battery falls into sleep mode after 24 hours at the latest.

Tips for storing and caring for the Groove Next battery:

When the battery has been removed from the e-bike, the battery should be stored in a dry, not too warm room. The battery should not be exposed to direct sunlight. The recommended storage temperature is 18 to 23°C.
Furthermore, it should be noted that the battery should not be stored in a fully charged state. A state of charge between 51 and 75% (3 LEDs) is ideal for this.

If you want to wipe the Groove Next battery, touching the contacts should be avoided. Otherwise, there is a risk of electric shock.
