Italy is renowned for its design, be it apparel, furniture, architecture, cars or motorcycles. Now even in the ebike field, Italian manufacturers stand out for their original design. We showcase here two examples of new Italian ebikes for model year 2025.
Italmoto Trionfale, looking just like a motorcycle of the glorious 50s
There are, especially in the US, several ebikes models looking like old-fashioned motorbikes. Yet, nobody pushed the look of any ebike to recall a postmodern motorcycle like Italy’s Italmoto. Their Trionfale would look exactly like a motorbike from the 50s, if it weren’t four pedals and chainring. The awesomely powerful LG/Samsung 960wh battery has been smartly hidden in the fake tank, the headlight looks exactly like that of an old motorcycle, its comfortable leather saddle comfortably seats two people, like that of motorbikes. Even the digital display features two round gauges for battery charge and speed, imitating rev counter and speedometer of a motorbike cockpit.
It’s got hydraulic disc brakes, we imagine with two pistons, and a seven-speed Shimano Altus gearshift. Colored LCD display with standard fucnctions, plus GPS navigation and geolocation.
Its tires could well equip a light motorcycle. Idem for its sturdy, big front and rear shock absorbers. Regarding engine power, it offers three choices: 250W, 500W and a mighty 750W. Instead of the standard 36 Volts, its Bafang motors are 48 Volts, which bodes well for a thorough torque, even though it’s not declared. As it has become trendy nowadays, they boast that it is entirely made in Italy. As if the Chinese Bafang motor and display, LG/Samsung Korean battery, and the Japanese Shimano Altus gearshift were only secondary details.
Italmoto’s other ebikes
There’s also The AureliaX, rare full suspension folding ebike, and the T4E3, another stylish 250Wh or 500Wh old fashioned ebike, with the same drivetrain features of the Trionfale.
A competitively priced post-modern ebike
Bang for the bucks: for the 250W: 1999 €, roughly 1900$; for the 250W: 2999 €, roughly 2850$; for the 750W: 3190 €, roughly 2990$.
Ideal for sitting and chatting with friends in squares or in front of bars
In Italy, people like to spend time in beautiful, broad squares or in front of bars. Those who own a motorcycle, enjoy just sitting on it while exchanging with friends. Ebikes are becoming more and more common. Yet, sitting on an idle ebike is not that comfortable. That’s why Italmoto’s Trionfale comfortable saddle could woo many buyers. Especially youngsters who are used to carry their girlfriend on their 50cc scooter, which is illegal, whereas it is legal for such an ebike.
Pedaling ergonomics are a bit hampered
Of course, such a large saddle compels you to widen the gap between your legs, i.e. the Q factor of this ebike is a bit too wide. Let alone the friction between your legs and the saddle. Moreover, offering only one size, this ebike barely fits tall people.

The remote control on the handlebar allows the rider to set 3 levels of assistance that can be customized with the App: maximum power (maximum watts of the motor), percentage of assistance (motor’s response to the rider’s thrust) and pedal analysis (the boost of power delivery, either immediate or with pedaling).
