This year, bicycle manufacturers are inevitably following what is happening at Bosch. The big curtain has now fallen there. What emerged was the fundamentally revised Bosch Performance Line CX motor, the two intube batteries with the manufacturer’s best energy density, a cleverly placed new Bosch Purion 400 display, and a new Pro-level ABS with the same name – the ABS Pro. These components form the basis for two new models that Flyer is presenting on the same day as Bosch. At the Eurobike 2024 in Frankfurt, the manufacturer had focused on its new ebikes with the Pinion MGU and the Bosch Performance Line SX.

2. More range on touring e-bikes? Of course.

5. New and old side by side
1. The new Bosch Performance Line CX has a lot going for it
Both the Flyer Gotour 20205 and the Flyer Goroc X 2025 primarily use two key features of the fifth generation of the Bosch Performance Line CX. The first is the approximately 30 percent reduction in pedalling resistance. Thanks to this, the motor is even more suitable than before for use in ebikes that allow you to cover long distances. On short distances, it is easier to overlook the one or other flaw of a drive. But the more kilometres you cover, the smoother the ride should feel.
The second feature concerns the rattle-free running of the motor, especially on bumpy surfaces. Occurring in some of the CX motors, it could get on your nerves in the long run. According to first riding impressions, Bosch has been able to completely eliminate the problem due to a modified motor interior. So, you can just enjoy the pure cycling on extended tours.
2. More range on touring ebikes? Of course.
It is also worth noting that Flyer is initially focusing on the larger of the two new batteries, the Bosch PowerTube 800. Lighter and more compact than a Bosch PowerTube 750, it is very easy for bike manufacturers to integrate. Among other things, it allows designers to make a down tube slimmer than before. This also helps full-power ebikes to look more like conventional bikes without electric assistance. At Flyer, they also prefer to combine it with the Bosch PowerMore additional battery. This offers you an additional 250 watt-hours, increasing the capacity to a total of 1,050 watt-hours. These are ideal conditions for the new Flyer Gotour and Flyer Goroc X, both of which make an excellent impression as touring bikes.
3. Flyer Gotour 2025
Since 2022, the Gotour from Flyer has been the epitome of a touring and trekking ebike that is also perfect as a bike for everyday use. The model series is very diverse, including versions with derailleur and hub gears, with suspension forks of various quality, rigid or dropper seat posts, sufficiently large luggage racks, a range of colours – and all this in three common frame shapes: diamond, mid-step and step-through.
In addition, the models were based on different motors. In only three cases, this was a Bosch Performance Line CX. At this point, Gotour is now breaking new ground. All five new models are equipped with a Gen. 5 CX motor. This is fed by the Bosch PowerTube 800. If you wish, you can combine the PowerTube with the matching range extender from Bosch, the PowerMore 250. As for the control units, the Bosch Mini Remote on the handlebars works together with the Bosch System Controller integrated into the top tube. Depending on the model, either the Bosch Kiox 500 or the Bosch Intuvia 100 display rounds off the ebike system.
Convincing details
While some e-bikes only claim to be designed for long tours, Flyer also equips the Gotour appropriately. Except for the entry-level model, you will find a suspension seatpost on every other version. A stem with an adjustable angle and ergonomic grips are standard on all models. The suspension fork on the sportiest model, the Flyer Gotour 7.12 XC, provides a little more riding comfort. The suspension travel on this model has recently been increased to 100 millimetres. The other models still have the familiar 80 millimetres or 75 millimetres.
Further details show why Flyer also sees the new Gotour as an ebike for urban settings. In the city, for example, a front rack quickly proves to be an advantage. The manufacturer offers this as an optional extra. You can load it with smaller items weighing up to ten kilograms. The rear rack with the integrated rear light can take up to 27 kilograms. With the help of an adapter, a child seat, baskets and bags can be attached to it using a click system. Of course, ordinary panniers will do the job too. What’s more, the e-bike is approved for towing a child trailer. The total weight, including the passenger and any luggage, must not exceed 40 kilograms.
Spread across five models, you’ll find Shimano and Enviolo hub gears on the Flyer Gotour, as well as three Shimano derailleur systems with either eleven or nine gears. From our point of view, the only downside is that Flyer has not equipped the bike with ABS. This was previously available on two models.
Prices for the new Flyer Gotour range from 4,999 euros for the Flyer Gotour 5.10 to 5,999 euros for the Flyer Gotour 7.23 with Enviolo gearing.

4. Flyer Goroc X 2025
The Flyer Goroc X and Flyer Gotour are noticeably similar. Therefore, much of what was said about the first new Flyer model with the new Bosch components also applies to this full-suspension crossover ebike. The most noticeable difference is the rear suspension on the Flyer Goroc X, along with the longer suspension travel of the fork. If the Gotour is more of a touring bike for paved surfaces, the Goroc X shows its strengths over longer distances on rough roads and off-road.
The parallels between the two e-bikes continue when we look at the current situation. It immediately becomes clear that the new Goroc X also ties in with an existing concept – that of the previous Goroc X. With 140 millimetres at the front and rear, it even offered slightly more suspension than its successor. The suspension travel for the rear shock has been slightly reduced to 125 millimetres.
Special teamwork
The Goroc X was previously powered by a Panasonic GX Ultimate Pro FIT. With its torque of 95 Newton metres, it was always a step ahead of a number of competitors. Among those beaten was the Bosch Performance Line CX. However, its radical rejuvenation apparently seemed to convince Flyer to work with the prominent Bosch unit. The relevant arguments, such as easier pedalling and reduced noise, were discussed in more detail at the beginning of the article. As a result, Flyer is expanding the model range and is adding to the Flyer Goroc X with the Panasonic drive, quasi generation 1, a Flyer Goroc X with a Bosch CX motor, quasi generation 2.
Similar to the Gotour, the new Gororc X also features a Bosch PowerTube with 800 watt hours, an optional 250 watt hour additional battery and the Bosch System Controller and Bosch Mini Remote control units. This time, the manufacturer is using the Bosch Kiox 500 and its smaller brother, the Bosch Kiox 300, for the display. There is also talk of an optional Bosch ABS Pro. So far, however, we don’t know with absolute certainty which of the two Goroc X variants this applies to. It will probably be the more expensive Flyer Goroc X 6.70.
A limited selection
There is a difference of 1,000 euros between the top-of-the-range model and the more affordable Flyer Goroc X 2.10, which costs 5,999 euros. The main reasons for this are likely to be the different suspension systems, different gear and brake groupsets and the respective wheelset. The stem with adjustable angle is available with mudguards, a rear rack and lighting across the entire model series. The additional rack for mounting on the head tube is also an option for both models.

5. New and old side by side
Important: The Gotour has been part of the Flyer range for some time. Although the new models are now available, the old ones will not disappear from the range immediately. A round label with the inscription ‘New’ on the manufacturer’s website makes sure that the two are clearly distinguished. So when making your selection, you need to look carefully. For a certain period of time, models with identical product names will actually coexist. Be sure to bear this in mind when looking for one of the bikes in shops or online stores.
