Ebike Campers, Worth Buying? What's at Stake

Ebike campers enable inexpensive and amusing vacations in camping, and also adventurous and fascinating journeys.

People increasingly enjoy being in touch with the nature, which also shelters them from the annoying heat that hotels and apartments store in their walls and rooms. Moreover, camping is sociable and inexpensive, providing freedom and entertainments. That’s why ebike tourists, who particularly appreciate freedom and contact with the nature, are all the more attracted by vacationing in in camping with their E bikes. Most of them don’t shun camping directly in the nature. Indeed, new models of ebike campers and trailers just blossom worldwide. Before taking a look at a few of them, some caveats:

Hauling an ebike trailer or camper, the stakes

Before considering buying or renting an ebike camper, one should consider a few hindrances:

Since most weigh more than 30 kg, or 70 pounds, plus the attrition of their two wheels, not only your speed will be considerably diminished but your battery autonomy will be considerably smaller. The ideal would be a camper on a motorized 3Kw trailer, even better if equipped with solar panels.
Your ebike motor will undergo a big stress, and, if it delivers less than 70 Nm of torque, it will have a hard time hauling the camper, unless your muscles are strong enough to compensate
The shifter too could be seriously affected, especially if you don’t pay attention, caring to shift only when no thrust is exerted on the chain either from the motor or pedalling
Overheating of the battery and the motor should be carefully avoided
Take into account that all car campers have got brakes, whereas ebike campers don’t have any. This can cause serious problems in steep descents
You’d better have performant and recent tires, since their task is going to be much harder
Wind can also cause problems, since ebike campers offer it a wide surface

The CreaConstruct Scout Compact

It must be coupled with the S400 CreaConstruct cargo trailer, which gives it a large capacity and robustness. The advantage, is that you can use the cargo trailer independently, although the combination of the two weighs and costs more than most single ebike campers.
