The summer is slowly coming to an end. That’s why it’s even more important to remember that after the holiday is before the holiday. And therefore also: After the tour is before the tour. Anyone who has already set their sights on the next destination can now benefit from a very useful collaboration between Bosch and komoot. The two companies have joined forces and developed almost 100 tour suggestions for ebikes.
Ride like a local expert
For selected areas in Germany and four of our neighbouring countries, you can use routes planned on the komoot platform. According to Bosch, these routes were not created by just anyone. People who know the area very well were recruited for the joint project. It was particularly important for both Bosch and komoot to try to use routes that are off the beaten track. “Since it can sometimes get a little more crowded on well-known routes during the holiday season, the alternative route suggestions offer e-bikers new inspiration. In addition, they help to unbundle heavily used paths in popular holiday regions,” says Claus Fleischer, Business Manager of Bosch eBike Systems.
In line with this approach, the tours are designed in such a way that you can do without a car as a means of getting there. It should be possible to start from several points on a tour. In this way, a train station, a hotel or possibly even your home can be considered as a starting point.
The suggestions from Bosch and komoot can either be ridden as they are or used as a basis for your own tours.
Wide choice of routes
So, flexibility is a top priority. Just like the concern to offer something for everyone. Some of the routes have very different characters. They range from a relaxed 20-kilometre flat loop to a sweat-inducing intensive ride with almost 2,400 metres of altitude gain over just 50 kilometres. You will discover asphalt cycle paths as well as single trails that invite adventure. Depending on the route, sometimes a touring ebike is recommended rather than an e-mountain bike.
The classification of the different routes on komoot with the categories “easy”, “medium” and “difficult” offers you a first orientation. However, there is always a detailed description. In addition to details on navigation, you will also find information on where to stop and have a delicious meal, where you can recharge your battery if necessary and where tourist attractions are worth a visit.
From now on, you can access the routes digitally via the eBike Connect app, the COBI.Bike app and the komoot app. With the Kiox, Nyon (Gen1 and Gen2) and COBI.Bike displays, the routes can be synchronised and then ridden. Whether and, if so, when this service will also be available for the Flow app of the new Bosch Smart System drive in future has apparently not yet been decided by the motor manufacturer.
