Diversity has always been one of the biggest plus points when talking about Haibike. This year, this fact has certainly brought many a bead of sweat to the manufacturer’s forehead. Why? Well, while other brands “only” had to deal with the revised drive from Bosch, the company from Schweinfurt had to overcome a hurdle twice as high. Because Yamaha also launched the PW-X3, the next version of its motor, including a larger battery.
According to Yamaha, the PW-X3 is about 20 percent smaller and weighs 300 grams less than its predecessor, the PW-X2. The battery, which has grown to 750 watt hours, also measures more in length than the previous energy storage units. Consequently, the challenge was broadly similar to integrating Bosch’s Smart System. The dimensions of the motor and its housing have remained constant. However, the PowerTube 750 battery is seven centimetres longer than the PowerTube 625. Using selected model series as examples, you can find out in the article how Haibike has mastered all this.

1. Haibike Adventr 2022: Revamped all round
Let’s start with one of the manufacturer’s new lines. Full-suspension e-mountain bikes that are absolutely suitable for off-road use and at the same time as a bike for any time of day or year have not been in Haibike’s range for too long. Nevertheless, such bikes seem to have some potential for the future. They are being upgraded for the 2022 season. A rear triangle with suspension has so far been reserved for the top model. In future, it will be the new standard for all three models.
The shock is integrated into the completely new frame of the Haibike Adventr. With motors from Yamaha and Bosch, other units set the pace than before. The previous Flyon motors no longer appear. The wheel size has also changed. In the coming season you can choose between bikes with 29-inch and 27.5-inch tyres. In addition, there is a choice of 750 watt hours or 630 watt hours of battery capacity, depending on the model.
Despite the technological leap Haibike is making in terms of the Adventr, some of you may look back a little wistfully. The almost futuristic rear carrier with the harmoniously integrated tail lights certainly had its fans. The same goes for the former imposing front headlight, the Skybeamer. The bikes of the coming season appear somewhat narrower and more agile. In addition, the range extender for the PW-X3 will appear in the foreseeable future. If it has 500 watt-hours, like the current version, that would make a total of 1,250 watt-hours. That would be a mighty statement.

2. Haibike Allmtn 2022: Not an easy choice
Haibike wants to convey the same fun factor on the uphill and the downhill with its Allmtn models. Before you can test which of them gives you more pleasure, there is, as always, an important decision to be made. Which motor should it be? For the 2022 season, one option has been eliminated and only Yamaha and Bosch drives are available. The first one is generally considered to be a bit sportier and more agile, while the Bosch motors impress with their reliability.
This time the motor choice is linked to different frame concepts. Haibike has integrated the Allmtn models with Bosch power unit into a frame that combines carbon and aluminium. Where weight plays a greater role, you will find carbon. Where very high loads are to be expected, aluminium was used. In contrast, the frame of the Yamaha-powered models is made entirely of aluminium.
You can easily tell the difference visually. On the models with the Bosch motors, the motor is enclosed by a strut running over it and the down tube. In between you can see a small gap. Air flows through this gap to the motor and cools it additionally. The Yamaha motor, on the other hand, is fitted into the frame without a gap.
Powerful motor as a common ground
In terms of pure data, the two motor manufacturers are the same. Both have a continuous rated power of 250 watts, a torque of 85 Newton metres and a maximum battery capacity of 750 watt hours. Let no one say that buying a bike would be easy.
Fortunately, other details remain the same. You can rely on 160 millimetres of suspension travel at the front and rear triangle. The trails you conquer with a mullet mix, i.e. a 29-inch wheel at the front and a 27.5-inch wheel at the rear. The single-speed drivetrain with twelve sprockets on the cassette is also standard down to the entry-level model.

3. Haibike Nduro 2022: Making two into one
Good news for all bike park fans: in future, the descent can start even higher up the mountain. Due to the new Yamaha battery and its approximately 20 percent greater capacity, you will tackle even more metres in altitude before the direction of travel simply points steeply downwards. Especially those who challenge themselves and their bike as they do on the Enduro models of the Nduro series will certainly appreciate this increase.
New for 2022 is the Haibike Nduro 8 Freeride model. The manufacturer has cancelled its Dwnhll series. Most recently, it comprised only one bike. So the pain is limited. Especially since the Freeride seems to be at least an equivalent replacement. With its robust suspension fork from Öhlins and the steel spring-equipped shock from the same manufacturer, it is immediately recognisable as a bike that does not stop at the roughest terrain.
The Haibike Nduro 7 and the Haibike Nduro 6 follow closely behind. Equipped with the 203 millimetre brake discs of the Magura MT7, a more than potent tyre combination from Schwalbe and the resistant Deemax wheels from Mavic, everything is set for the next off-road adventure.

4. Haibike Trekking 2022: Growth in the middle of the model range
In the trekking ebike segment, Haibike has increasingly worked on model diversity. This applies first and foremost to the very strong-selling segment, which is just below and above the important 3,000 euro mark. Here, the manufacturer has developed another low-step model, which it equips with PW-ST motors from Yamaha. There are also new colours for you to choose from.
At the top of the Haibike trekking series, as expected, models are added that are based on the Smart System from Bosch. The greater range will probably be of great interest to many who want to take their ebike on extended excursions and bike trips lasting several days. In view of the generously dimensioned tyres, the powerful motors from Bosch and Yamaha and a suspension travel of 100 millimetres on the more expensive variants, the route can also be taken off-road with a clear conscience.

5. Haibike Alltrail 2022: New old acquaintance
In addition to new motors, Haibike also has new names in its programme. Example 1 is the Alltrail model series. Behind the unfamiliar name, however, there are good old acquaintances. We are talking about the Fullnine and Fullseven model series. Both have now been merged into the Alltrail range.
From a mere technical point of view, the model year here is a mix of existing bikes and innovations. With the Alltrail 9 and the Alltrail 7, two new full-suspension e-mountain bikes are coming onto the market, in which the PW-X3 motor from Yamaha also serves its duties. The Alltrail 9 has a larger battery with 750 watt hours. In the case of the Alltrail 7, it is the smaller version with 630 watt hours.
What both have in common is the fact that you can choose between a version with 29-inch wheels and 27.5-inch wheels. The suspension travel of the fork and shock is identical at 140 millimetres. A small but decisive restriction: the larger rim circumference is only available in frame sizes M, L and XL. With the smaller wheels, we already start in size S, but only get up to L.
The Alltrail models are completed by the bikes that were already available in this form last season. Only their names are different now. The drives are the familiar Bosch Performance CX motor with the 625 PowerTube and the Yamaha PW-ST with a 630 watt-hour battery.

6. Haibike Alltrack 2022: Proven concept meets new Bosch system
Example 2 among the new names is actually a “real” new bike. Haibike is expanding its range among hardtails. Basically, it is another consequence of the “Bosch quake” and the introduction of the Smart System. At this point, the manufacturer apparently thought it was more worthwhile to let the previous Hardnine and Hardseven series continue unchanged and to design a completely new frame for the new drive.
The basic philosophy of the Hardnine and Hardseven is unmistakably reflected in the Alltrack. A suspension travel of 120 millimetres, which is very well suited to a hardtail, combined with a single-speed chain drive and a very generous battery capacity result in a great bike that is capable of doing a lot off-road and at the same time does not look completely out of place on the road in everyday use.
Once again, you have to be careful when choosing the appropriate frame size. In the M, L and XL versions, the aluminium frame rolls on 29-inch wheels. Frame size S, on the other hand, has 27.5-inch wheels.
